Dear Parishioners,
Last weekend we heard a presentation on the capital development needs of our parish. This week we will be answering, in the form of a pledge or statement of intention, as to how we can help. This campaign was in the works before I became Pastor here at St. Elizabeth Seton, and when I heard the particulars and learned of the needs, I was totally behind this program. I think it is imperative to recognize that this is your Church, and your Parish facility. In the same way you care for your home as it ages, so you care for the house of God that you gather in weekly to give thanks to the generous God who cares for all of our needs.
This Campaign is asking you to make a commitment to support the needs of these buildings and facilities. It is most important that this ?ask? is coming from parishioners to fellow parishioners. Pastors have the job of ministering to the needs of the people, and part of that is to oversee the fiscal responsibility of the people to meet those needs. Realize that you are making this pledge not to me, but to your fellow parishioners, to do your fair share as you are able at this point. Should circumstances change in your life, you may need to adjust your commitment accordingly. That would be very understandable.
I thank you for taking this responsibility seriously. We want this beautiful Church and Parish to be testimony to the faith of this community. I thank you for your generosity not only financially speaking but in time and talent as well. It takes every one of you to make this work, and to show our pride of who we are as a Parish Community of Faith.
God Bless You,
Fr. Dick Smith
Pastor
