Registration for returning families for Religious Education 2013-3014 is due on May 22 to get the discounted rate. Forms were mailed out about a month ago. Please return your form, or stop by and pick up a new form to be returned by this Wednesday, May 22. It is diocesan policy that a child is in the Religious Education program for one full year before receiving sacraments. A child would need to be in First Grade Religious Education to be on track to receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation and Eucharist in 2nd Grade/ please call the RE office with questions or concerns.

RECONCILIATION
To better accommodate parishioners, we are adding an extra hour of confessions for each Saturday of Lent. Confessions will be heard each Saturday from 3:00 until 4:30 P.M. Confessions end at 4:30 even if there is a line. Please respect that the priest needs that time to prepare for the 5:00 P.M. Mass.
Lenten Communal Reconciliation will be on Tuesday, March 12 at 7:00 P.M.
PARISH LENTEN GIVING: OPERATION RICE BOWL
The young people and families of St Elizabeth Seton will participate in the Catholic Relief Services Operation Rice Bowl as a way to encounter Jesus through others, especially the most vulnerable. CRS is the official international humanitarian agency of the Catholic community in the U.S. During Lent, we ask those participating to pray and make sacrifices to help them to fill the bowls with donations. Rice Bowls were distributed on Ash Wednesday – additional bowls will be available for pick-up in the RE office. Rice Bowls with donations should be brought back to Church on Palm Sunday, March 24 and placed in the baskets by the Welcome Desk. Go to crsricebowl.org for more info.

IMET 6th Annual Marriage Enrichment Conference
Join us March 9 from 8:30am – 12:30pm at Wentz Auditorium at North Central College for Marriage on a Lampstand, a renewal experience for any married or engaged couple. Marriage is a visible sign of our invisible God. Couples will learn 12 ways sacramental marriages let God’s light shine through them. Our special guest speakers, Andrew and Terri Lyke, will address topics such as, laughter, celebration, living in the now, knowing where the treasure is and making room for each other. The Lykes have been leaders in Christian marriage preparation, education and enrichment since 1982 and are a regular feature on American Catholic Radio’s weekly segment “Marriage Moment.” Tickets are being sold for $30 per couple and will be available in the lower level at St. Elizabeth Seton Church the weekend of March 2/3. The Women’s CRHP weekend is coming up on March 9 and 10!
The CRHP experience is a gift from fellow parishioners to you. The weekend days include reflection talks by team members on their Catholic faith experience, small group discussion and opportunity for Reconciliation, Mass, personal prayer and reflection. Twenty-five years ago when Bridge Communities opened our first apartment, we did it as a church, just like this one, and we did it using only volunteers with no social services or professional support staff. Today, with the help of your church, Bridge is assisting 100 families each and every day. As Bridge celebrates its 25th year milestone, I wanted to take this opportunity to thank you for your dedication to helping homeless families. Environmental Ministry
We are still collecting broken Christmas tree lights! We have partnered with Elgin Recycling to collect and recycle old Christmas string lights. Elgin Recycling will pay St. Elizabeth Seton for every pound of lights collected, so keep collecting! We’ve already filled one 4’ x 4‘ x 4‘ box and are trying to fill another. Place your old lights in the specially marked bin near the Environmental cart on the lower level of the church. We will be collecting through the middle of January.
Additionally, are still collecting ‘used’ Christmas and holiday cards for St. Jude’s Recycled Card Program. The children of St. Jude’s will use the old cards to create beautiful new cards, which they will sell to benefit St. Jude’s. Please remove the backs of the cards before placing them in the specially marked bin on the Environmental cart.
Will You Be Christ’s Hands? Raise Your Hand for the New Helping Hands Ministry!
The SES Christian Service Commission is in the process of reorganizing the Helping Hands Ministry and is searching for several people to help with the restructuring and someone to chair this ministry when complete. Helping Hands was once a very vibrant part of our parish and the services provided to those in need were always greatly appreciated. When the ministry is ready to serve, it should limit the scope of activities to those that can be performed within a minimum amount of time and without much effort such as picking up a prescription, shoveling a sidewalk for a senior, or helping with a household task. No commitment of regularly scheduled time would be required and the service minister would be allowed to select which task they would prefer from those being requested. This ministry is for anyone who has been looking for a way to help others once in a while on their own terms. Catholic Schools Week Celebration

January Open Houses for the 2013-2014 School Year
All Saints will be hosting open houses during Catholic Schools Week on Sunday, January 27, and Wednesday, January 30. Staff members, along with representatives from athletics and our School Home Parish Partnership (SHPP) organization, will be available to answer questions at the Sunday open houses, that will be held from 1 – 3 pm at the ASCA Main Campus, 1155 Aurora Avenue, Naperville (Preschool through Grade 8), and from 9 am to Noon at ASCA’s St. Elizabeth Seton satellite campus (Pre Kindergarten program only), 2220 Lisson Road, Naperville.
There will also be an open house held the evening of Wednesday, January 30 from 7 – 8:30 pm at the ASCA Main Campus, 1155 Aurora Avenue, Naperville. Tours will be conducted by current student families at both open houses, with administrators available to answer questions, and to accept admissions applications for the 2013-2014 school year. “Christ Renews His Parish” (CRHP) 2013 Retreat is Coming!
CRHP (pronounced “chirp”) is a Saturday-Sunday renewal weekend given for parishioners by parishioners.
The Men’s Weekend is February 16th and 17th

CRHP is designed to bring members of a parish together in Christ. St. Elizabeth Seton Facility Closing for Inclement Weather
St. Elizabeth Seton will follow the closing schedule of Naperville School District 203 when there is inclement weather. This includes the Church building, Parish and RE Offices, morning Masses and all evening programs. A recorded message regarding the closing will be available on the Parish Center and RE main telephone lines. In addition, emergency closings will be posted on our website.
