HELP WANTED!!! Welcome Desk Ministry

We thank all the parishioners who have served and continue to serve at the welcome desk over the last year and this ministry is growing. We have received accolades for the way our visitors and our parishioners, have been cordially greeted and taken care of. This is a first impression that is really making a difference.

Our Welcome Desk in the upper Narthex has been a terrific success in providing an immediate source of information across a wide spectrum of needs. As the front line in our effort to welcome all who come, our Welcome Ministry mans the Welcome and Information Desk and each person is trained to provide critical information to parishioners and visitors and to forward questions and inquiries to the proper staff members.

With the fall season almost upon us we are looking to add to our numbers in the welcome ministry. This ministry literally takes 15 minutes before Mass and 15 minutes after Mass on a scheduled basis (you will usually be scheduled two Masses per month), and your service makes a lasting difference. We are looking for a number of additional adult and teen Welcome desk volunteers to provide a true “welcome” to all who stop by for any reason. You don‘t need to know it all. We will train you on where to find information or where to refer a question for an answer. How we handle inquiries of any kind may determine the fist impression and the lasting one a visitor will form about our faith community.

If you like to smile and love meeting people and helping them with a wide range of inquiries (which is needed at every Mass) we will train you and prepare you. You will love it! This is front line Evangelization at work. We need your help in continuing to offer a warm welcome to all.

To serve on this ministry, please call Deacon Andy Cirmo at 630-416-3325 x 772 or email ancirmo@wowway.com

Sunday Coffee and Donuts

The service has become a special tradition at St. Elizabeth Seton, giving us another affectionate title, “The Donut Church,” from some of our youth!

It is a vital expression of our claim to be a welcoming, hospitable, faith community. The committee coordinates the ordering and pick-up of the refreshments and schedules servers and clean up crews.

Sunday Nursery

The Sunday nursery operates on a co-op basis. Parents must fill out a registration card and agree to be placed on a schedule to attend to one Mass per scheduling period. A schedule is put out three to four times a year. Pagers are also available for parents who have children in the nursery. Most parents find their Sunday morning liturgy to be much more fulfilling when young children are playing happily in the nursery!
