RCIA Sessions Started September 8, 2011

Are you someone who is interested in learning more about the Catholic Faith or do you know someone who is not Catholic, but would like to know more about the Faith? If so, there is a program right here at our parish to explore the beauty of the gift of our Catholic faith. This program is called RCIA (the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults). The program consists of presentations on all aspects of our Faith. During all phases of the program there is no commitment; you are free to continue, or not, at your discretion.

Join other adults from a wide variety of faiths as we embark together on this journey which began on September 6th at 7:30 PM. Come and learn the beauty of the faith taught to us directly by Jesus and passed down to us by the apostles and their successors.

If you are interested, please call Deacon Bart at (630) 416-3325 or email him at bartles67@gmail.com with any questions you may have about the RCIA program and what it takes to become a Catholic.

RCIA Invitation

RCIA-smallRCIA Invitation

Do you know anyone – family, friend, neighbor –  who might be interested?

Would you be interested in helping?

Dear Parishioners,

Do you have a non Catholic family member or friend who would like to know more about the Catholic faith?  Perhaps you’ve been coming to Mass for a while, but are not Catholic. We invite you to look deeper into the richness of Catholicism. Come meet some faithful Catholics who love the Lord and would consider it a privilege to get to know you.

We begin our Inquiry sessions this year on Thursday September 9, 2010 and continue on through the beginning of May 2011. The time to receive the sacraments (or reception into Full Communion) is dependent on when you are ready, although the Easter Vigil is the primary time for adult baptisms and reception into the Catholic Church.

Sessions are held on Thursday evenings from 7:30 – 9:00 pm. This first session is September 10th in Rooms 2 & 3 on the lower level of the Church.

Please call Deacon Bart if you have questions or would like further information at 630-416-3325, or email at bartles67@wowway.com

If you are interested we would also like to invite you to share your faith with others by becoming a sponsor for someone on their faith journey or by helping out behind the scenes as part of the RCIA Team. If you are willing to help out, or have questions as to what this would entail, please give me a call at 630-416-3325 x 732

Sincerely,

Deacon Bart Federici

Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults

RCIA-smallThrough this process, which involves various rituals and parish support, adults are added to the faith through the sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation and Holy Communion, or they are brought into Full Communion with the Catholic Church through a profession of faith and reception of the Sacraments of Confirmation and Holy Communion.

Adult Catholics who were baptized but not instructed in the faith enter the RCIA to prepare to complete their Rites of Initiation by receiving the sacraments of Confirmation and/or Holy Communion.

Members of St. Elizabeth Seton, who wish to share their faith, are invited to join the RCIA as team members or sponsors to journey with those who come to us seeking the Lord in a new and deeper way. We come away with much more than we brought as we hear and share faith stories.
